Ammonia nitrogen mainly refers to nitrogen that exists in the form of non ionized ammonia (NH3) and ammonium ions (NH4+), among which non ionized ammonia is the main factor causing toxicity to aquatic organisms. Ammonia nitrogen is a nutrient in water bodies that can lead to eutrophication. Our country's environmental protection department has taken many measures to require the detection of ammonia nitrogen in industrial wastewater and domestic sewage samples from industries such as fertilizers, smelting, and synthetic detergents. The discharge standard for urban sewage treatment plants (GB 18918-2002) stipulates that the first level standard for ammonia nitrogen shall not exceed 5mg/L, and the second level standard shall not exceed 25mg/L.

matters needing attention


1. If the content is higher than the range of the reagent, the measured value can only be used to estimate the dilution factor and cannot be used as a test result. The sample should be diluted before testing;

2. The pH of the water sample to be tested should be within the range of 6-9, otherwise it needs to be adjusted with dilute hydrochloric acid or dilute sodium hydroxide;

3. The test water temperature is 23-27 ℃. If the sample water temperature exceeds the usage range, the test results should be calibrated according to the temperature calibration table;

4. Due to the presence of ammonia containing dust particles in the ambient air, when using ammonia nitrogen pre installed tubes, the operation of adding reagents or samples after opening the lid should be completed as soon as possible and the tube lid should be closed to avoid contamination of the reagents or samples by ammonia in the air;

5. Store in a dry, cool, and out of reach of children. Do not store with food or medicine, and do not put into fire.
